Role Summary
The incumbent will support the Branch overall IT operations and system administration in co-ordination with the Head office from a technical perspective, reporting to the Manager I.T. London Branch for overall direction and guidance
Role Description
Provide input in the preparation of the annual budget to ensure that the branch is equipped with the necessary IT applications and equipment to fully support day to day operations.
Provide input in creating and developing the Technology, Key Risk indicators (KRIs) which shall be applicable within the branch to manage the bank’s exposure to IT related risks effectively.
Provide secure, convenient and highly available systems support for users in the branch and remote services such as ATMs, PoS and International (WAN/GAN) and local (LAN) networks.
Ensure that on a day to day basis all servers, computer terminals and I.T. and Comms. equipment installed in the London Branch are operating in accordance with Branch operating procedures and the objectives of QNB.
Ensure that all I.T. administration activities carried out comply with QNB computer operations procedures and policies.
Assist with the implementation of changes to operations procedures, processes and hardware, ensuring the changes are implemented as required.
Maintain a detailed and up to date knowledge of the relevant key systems and any new systems introduced into the branch as and when they are implemented.
Provide desktop I.T. support as a First line support function to users of the branch software and hardware identify and investigate issues or problems and resolve them in accordance with I.T. policies.
Assist with installation and loading of hardware and software to PC’s and Servers; maintain logs of PC maintenance and user calls.
Responsible for the administration of all computer networks within the branch ensuring also that the network operates effectively and efficiently; liaise with contractors and suppliers ensuring that network is maintained.
Assist in the maintenance of any regulatory authority IT requirements to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
Monitor and update as necessary all aspects of system security based on bank security policy.
Resolve faults and respond to requests for advice and assistance, as appropriate.
Analyze, specify and plan the day to day changes required for the technical infrastructure.
Undertake the implementation and routine maintenance of the telecommunications systems within the division/ organization.
Undertake the implementation and maintenance of PC and host based operational systems within the organization.
Assist with the evaluation of the designs of new systems and their appropriateness or compatibility with other operational applications and or local or International regulatory requirements.
Provide technical input in the implementation of new systems or with the enhancement of present systems, especially where changes to overnight processing or data interfaces are required.
Own support and enhance the arrangements for BCP in the branch under the supervision of the I.T. Manager. Monitor and maintain equipment stored offsite and ensure that the highest levels of BCP are maintained.
Understand and work with offsite entities regarding the branch security systems, third party service providers of systems operating in the branch to ensure maximized working efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
University graduate in Computer Science or related degree with relevant experience in systems operations/ data center environments within banking platforms.
MCSE certificate or similar up to date system qualification (preferred)
or career background providing necessary experience to perform the role of the I.T. support and Administrator functions
Problem troubleshooting evaluation and resolution skills and informed decision making skills to resolve a wide variety of IT related issues that may occur.
Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic if possible.
Strong co-ordination and execution skills.
Training courses in operating systems, operational management, and data center environments.
Working knowledge of various IT hardware, applications, networking and related support and maintenance work.
Strong Project management skills and proof of being able to work in a focused manner as an Individual or part of a team to achieve branch targets.
To share the responsibility with the Manager for liaison with both Internal and External Auditors to ensure the branch operations and procedures are both current, effective and comply with the Group policies..
Willingness to work overtime to achieve project deadlines where necessary.
