Role Summary
You will assist the Head of Compliance and AML to check that the company is conforming to the policies, laws and directives laid down by the authorities and regulators and no contracts/ agreements concluded by the organisation are contradicting the laid down policies, laws and directives.
You will also assist the Head of Compliance and AML in the implementation of appropriate anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism procedures and following up and reporting on any non compliance.
Role Description
You will also assist the QNB Head of Compliance and AML to resolve queries/ respond to issues raised by them relating to QNB Compliance efforts:
- Qatar Financial Market Authority Officials
- Qatar Exchange Officials
- Officials from other government bodies in Qatar like ministries.
- National Anti Money Laundering Committee (NAMLC) and the Financial Information Unit (FIU) in Qatar.
Check under the supervision of the Head of Compliance and AML all the employees / directors trades to ensure proper and timely regulatory reporting via the Compliance and MLRO.
Work closely with QNB Head of Compliance and AML to prepare guidelines and policies.
Receive all the communications from the regulatory bodies either physically or via fax and discuss the same with the Head of Compliance and AML.
Verify all the recorded phone calls related to trading, funds transfer, shares transfer, and clients details modifications and report any discrepancies to the Head of Compliance and AML.
Work on any compliance related Adhoc request(s) from QNB Chairman, CEO, Head of Compliance and AML and QNB Group Compliance based on the Head of Compliance and AML direct instructions.
Ensure proper filling for all the compliance matters, correspondences and communications.
Ensure that QNB complies with all known regulatory requirements and adheres to all internal compliance controls as agreed by QNB Head of Compliance and AML
Record all compliance failures in the Compliance register and maintain that register.
Assist the Head of Compliance and AML to ensure that the relevant Compliance procedure is updated whenever a change occurs in relation to the internal policies or procedures in that function.
Perform routine compliance checks within defined guidelines on an on-going basis.
Assist the the Head of Compliance and AML to ensure all relevant regulatory compliance requirements are met and all the staffs comply with guidelines.
Assist the Head of Compliance and AML in preparing the regulatory compliance reports including:
- The efficiency extent of the internal regulations.
- Complaints filed before the company during the year and the procedures taken to deal with such complaints.
- Information about the employees, their husbands, wives, and relatives until second degree
- Information about the employees of the company’s agents assigned to perform works related to the authorized activities.
Assist the Head of Compliance and AML in managing the domestic (AML/CFT) activities of QNB with the aim of ensuring complete and proper implementation of regulations and other guidelines
Maintain an understanding of all pertinent laws, regulations, policies/ procedures and applicable best practices pertaining to QNB operations/ activities.
Maintain utmost confidentiality with respect to the information obtained during the day-to-day performance of his duties/ responsibilities.
Qualifications
You will hold a Bachelor degree with professional qualifications such as CAMS/ CCO/ CIA.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a major banking institution or regulatory agency and preferably including 3 years in Compliance or Internal Audit.
In addition the successful candidate should have:
Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
The ability to analyze the impact of changes in the relevant regulations on QNB compliance risk profile pertaining to its operations.
Sufficient knowledge of banking/financial services policies/ procedures, regulatory and best practice pronouncements.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and problem solving and decision making ability.
