Role Summary
The role is primarily responsible for assisting the Head of Syndication with the initiation, preparation, processing and execution of syndicated transactions for the Group’s private, corporate and institutional (including government) clientele and thereby facilitating the growth and expansion of the corporate banking business.
Role Description
Primarily responsible to ensure prompt, efficient and timely performance, execution and delivery of required tasks related to syndication activities. Provides administrative, operations and logistical support and supervision to syndication team,
Performs verification of information on syndication transactions to ensure correctness of data.
Ensure QNB’s interests are adequately safeguarded before recommending approval of the credit.
Responsible for the preparation of Information Memorandum and other information to be provided to prospective lenders for the purpose of conducting their due diligence to enable them to participate in syndicated transactions arranged by QNB.
Is primarily responsible for the proper and efficient execution of syndication deals, including communicating and interfacing with clients, banks and other third parties involved in syndication transactions, in line with the function’s policies and procedures and in consideration of the bank’s obligations towards its clients and bank counterparties.
Liaises with the other parties comprising the project financing consortium, which would be dependent on the role assigned to the other parties within the consortium.
Is primarily responsible for conducting required periodic reviews and updates for existing syndicated transactions’ performance, and other risk assessment techniques in line with Credit Risk Policies and requirements.
Maintains and updates standard and user friendly business and financial reports using an internal data warehouse and all relevant public information sources as per syndication Unit team requirement and inquiries.
Review accuracy and submit periodic MIS reports/ information to the Head of Syndications to inform him about the unit’s performance.
Supports the Agency Unit, by providing technical, operational, credit and management guidance and supervision, to enable them to perform their functions and responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
Implement the ‘one-point of contact’ approach to respond to and resolve all customer’s and other parties’ needs and queries pertaining to syndication transactions.
Performs cross selling activities to enhance QNB’s overall relationship with customers by coordinating activities with other QNB units/ departments.
Ensures that all QNB Group policies procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
Interprets and applies customer research and feedback into tangible product development initiatives by providing inputs to relevant units of the QNB Group.
Performs any other tasks assigned by the direct manager pertaining to Corporate and Institutional Banking Division or QNB’s syndication activities.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate at least 7 years of relevant experience in a corporate banking industry or related fields. He/she will be well-informed of the market dynamics and competitive structure, industry environment, practices and rules and regulations for the corporate banking customer segment, in addition to possessing a Major in Law/Banking/ Finance/Accounting/Economics or Business Administration.
