Role Summary
The role is responsible for conducting/managing the compliance function for the Group’s domestic business activities. This is to identify and assess the compliance risks associated with such activities in light of pertinent QCB regulations, QFMA, QE and any other applicable statutory requirements.
Role Description
You will identify and assess the Compliance (including AML/CFT) risk faced by the Group with respect to its domestic business activities and thereby reduce the risk of regulatory sanctions.
You will assist in performing regular and comprehensive compliance risk assessment for all domestic business activities/entities of the Group to provide inputs to the annual Group Compliance plan. You will review and identify changes to the compliance programs developed for the individual domestic business entities of the Group in light of regulatory changes and applicable best practices.
You will participate in carrying out the mandatory verifications and reviews required by QCB (currently interim review and verification of the bank investment portfolio and funds)
You will also participate in the implementation of new systems to enhance/augment the Group’s compliance efforts in conjunction with the vendor support team and the Group’s IT personnel.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor degree with relevant professional qualifications such as CPA/CCO/CIA. In addition, he/she will demonstrate extensive experience in a major banking institution or regulatory agency. He/she will demonstrate the ability to ensure complete and proper implementation of QCB regulations and other relevant regulatory pronouncements. Arabic language skills are essential.
