Role Summary
This is a key business development role which is closely associated with the strategic intent to promote QNB’s Asset Management (‘AM’) products and services to Europe-based investors.
Specifically, the aim of the role is to:
- Identify Europe-based institutions/individuals who are likely to be interested in QNB’s AM product suite.
- Establish initial contact with such potential investors and, where appropriate, make a preliminary approach.
Originate such clients (where this may be permissible from a regulatory perspective) and/or refer them to the Head of International Business Development, in order to facilitate a further, direct, approach from Doha.
Role Description
You will co-ordinate closely with QNB product specialists across the network, in order to ensure the effective distribution of the full range of AM financial products and services. You will work with Europe-based RMs to develop and execute client account management plans, thereby ensuring the effective origination and maintenance of the AM component of Europe-based client relationships.
You will support the formulation and execution of an appropriate AM client origination and business development strategy. In conjunction with the Head of International Business Development, you will ensure that the operational processes associated with this initiative are fully aligned with QNB Group Operations – and that the Group’s risk profile is monitored and maintained at all times.
You will contribute to (and participate in) the strategic and business development planning for the International Business Development function. In addition, you will be fully aware of the need to sell (‘cross-sell’) the full QNB product suite – thereby ensuring that the business development process is genuinely client (and not product) driven.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business, Finance or Economics. He/she will demonstrate a background in AM marketing (and/or client business development) with related experience in a client origination role.
In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the relevant laws, regulations and practices pertaining to Investment Banking products in general and sales of investment products in particular, Europe-wide.
