Role Summary

Responsible for managing and directing the Card Product Development activities across the Retail Bank and that Product Development-related services for cards are delivered. Direct and oversee the development of retail cards across the bank and manage their implementation.

Role Description

Analyse the market for the products assigned to gauge customer preferences and ensure that products launched are in line with customer needs.

Provide professional Product Development advice, specifically relating to retail banking products to the Head of Cards, as and when required.

Review, refine, develop and launch new card products to maximize market share, revenues and profits in chosen segments, for the products assigned in local and international markets.

Ensure that all card related products are well defined and elaborated on in international markets through workshops and extensive trainings of sales teams

Ensure processes are in place for launch of new products, including the smooth launch of the same, and that the same are in compliance with the applicable internal policies/ procedures and external regulations, including but not limited to pertinent legal requirements, as applicable.

Oversee the Senior Officer, Cards Product Development in the management of the assigned products in terms of marketing, roll-out, sales and overall performance.

Compile and present relevant MIS on periodic basis for the Head of Cards, as and when required.

Work with Head of Cards to develop and implement strategies and plans to achieve pre-set / pre-agreed market share, volume, revenue, and profit targets through usage of the Cards portfolio.

Liaise with the relevant personnel in Group IT and Group Infrastructure for effecting the related system changes occasioned by the development of cards with enhanced features, and for effecting changes in the related process/ workflows respectively.

Enhance relationships with VISA, MasterCard, Amex, JCB & other Co-branding partners.

Set SMART Goals & reviews performance, and provides developmental feedback on an ongoing basis

Actively seek to improve others' skills and talents by providing constructive feedback, coaching, training opportunities and assignments which challenges their abilities and encourages development.

Qualifications

You will have a minimum of 7 years banking experience in retail asset products/cards, of which at least 3 years in a supervisory role in a major banking institution.

You must have Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or alternatively a MBA in Sales & Marketing (preferred).

In addition you should have the following:

Proven track record of product development and management in Cards.

Strong sales/ marketing and finance background.
