Role Summary

the role Senior officer in relation to Broker Database Maintenance & Settlement will be responsible for maintaining the in-housed developed program. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring adequate funds in customers’ accounts, the transfers between QNB customer accounts (QNB accounts and other bank accounts) and the brokers’ account, and the maintenance of investor account information.

Role Description

You will be responsible for contributing directly to the groups Key Performance Indicators, ensuring your team and department work to achieve these.  Ensuring the day to day transactions are completed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner, you and your team will work within the outlined Service Level Agreements.  Authorising transactions within your mandate, you will possess the ability to review and assess the transactions without compromising customer service and the agreed service level agreements.  Ensuring you and your team record and perform transactions in a compliant manner, you will work with and assist the internal and external auditors when appropriate.

 Settlement of capital markets, foreign exchange, bonds and investments transactions with brokers

Process treasury and investment transactions for the Treasury Division and QNB customers.

Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors when required

Operate the in-house developed program for the timely settlement of transactions with QNB approved brokers.

Maintain the database of investors, ensuring that all investor details and bank account information are timely updated.

Maintain broker wise accounts with investor details.

Ensure the availability of funds within QNB customer accounts. For customers with non-QNB bank accounts coordinate with other banks to ensure sufficiency of funds.

Perform internal transfers for customers with QNB bank accounts to the broker’s accounts.

Coordinate with customers and other banks for timely settlement of transactions for customers with non-QNB bank accounts.

Perform payment advices, receipts, and confirmations for broker transactions.

Help in responding/ solving any customers’ or other Banks’ issues promptly and refer any unavoidable delays directly to higher authorities

Perform the daily Nostro reconciliation in coordination with Operations Control; follow cases until resolve to avoid any Settlement delay or cost/loss to the Bank

Facilitate with Dept. Head all internal, External and QCB Auditors and prepare action and reply for same 

Maintain high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

Qualifications

You will have a degree in Accounting or a finance related discipline and a minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in Treasury Settlement operations. 

Extra required skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills (including report writing) in English and Arabic (preferable).

Planning, organizing and analytical ability.

Computer proficient and thorough knowledge of MS Office applications, bank and database applications.

Organized and able to work independently using good business judgment
