Role Description
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Strategy execution in QNB Group’s managed subsidiaries. Responsibility includes managing and liaising with the subsidiaries strategy execution teams for developing, executing and monitoring the annual Business Plan, Capital Expenditure (CapEx) plan, Performance Management process as well as the Project Management Office (PMO) with minimal supervision. Specifically:
Qualifications
- Align the annual Business Plan, CapEx plan and Performance Management with the bank’s strategic objectives
- Develop all PMO and performance management related information on a regular basis to the Executive Management and the Board for regular update, performance monitoring, quality assessment and decision making
- Monitor, review and report on execution of the portfolio of subsidiaries strategic projects (PMO)
- Develop all business, support and control divisions’ business plans and CapEx plans on an annual basis in close alignment with the subsidiaries
- Coordinate and align with the subsidiaries with respect to input for business and CapEx planning and performance management related matters
- Manage the portfolio of strategic projects (PMO) to pro-actively flag issues/ risks and escalate as necessary to Executive Management
- Provide guidance on the planning, prioritization and definition of business plans, performance management and projects across subsidiaries based on QNB’s overall strategy, and maintain a forward looking view/ plan throughout the year
- Supervise the project initiation process for planned and ad hoc projects, including the review and validation of project charters against subsidiary’s Business Plan and CapEx plan
- Determine and communicate dependencies of projects or divisional plans across divisions and address roadblocks
- Train subsidiary strategy execution team on the process to manage all components of the project lifecycle: initiation, kickoff, execution, and project closure and associated templates and documentation
- Determine training needs and provide training and support to subsidiaries strategy execution team on QNB Group’s methodology, tools, templates and approach for Business Plan, CapEx plan, Performance Management and PMO
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with head office divisions and subsidiaries to ensure the successful completion of group-wide activities within defined time frame
Additional Information
- Masters’ degree
- Minimum of 12 years of similar experience within the financial services arena
- Diverse business and/ or functional experience
- Previous experience in a leading role for strategy execution
- Awareness of a management consulting approach (previous senior role in such is an advantage)
- Experience with performance management, balanced scorecard approach and management of information systems (MIS)
- Deep understanding and knowledge of the activities and functions of the various business and support divisions in a financial institution
- Strongly developed analytical, numerical, evaluation and planning skills
- Possess a thorough understanding of project management and corporate planning theory and practice
- Assist in acting as a center of excellence and hub for QNB Group to train on the Group’s corporate planning (Business Plan and CapEx plan), Performance Management and PMO methodology
- Possesses a strategic view of QNB to ensure alignment of priorities at the subsidiary
- Identify related areas for professional self-development. Ensure the provision of relevant guidance, direction and training to subordinates to develop and enhance their skills
- Assess performance of direct reports and provide regular feedback on their development
- Demonstrate ability to provide team with support; direction and vision, including motivating people to perform, listening to people, providing feedback, recognizing strengths and providing challenges
- Assist the Head of Strategy Execution (Subsidiaries) in identifying any areas for professional development, and act to enhance professional development of self and others
