Job Responsibilities
- Review and provide input to ensure a proper and timely preparation of the audit universe, risk assessments and audit plans of QNB international subsidiaries’ local internal audit Functions.
- Review and contribute in developing a risk assessment methodology for the local internal audit function in international subsidiaries.
- Determine whether the coverage of QNB international subsidiaries’ local internal audit activities is sufficient and effective to provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls in place.
- Ensure that effective quality assurance (QA) processes are in place to maintain the consistency and quality of local internal audits.
- Manage the relationships with the local internal audit function’s management and gain their inputs on significant developments that could have an impact on their annual audit plans.
- Develop tools to support an effective oversight and monitoring of QNB international subsidiaries’ local internal audit functions.
- Ensure that effective communication and coordination is maintained by the local internal audit functions with local regulators and external auditors.
- Monitor information on status of significant issues raised by local internal audit, external auditor and regulator and ensure that adequate follow-up process is in place.
- Participate in the high-level review of international subsidiaries as per the Group Internal Audit Division “GIAD” policy.
- Review of the international subsidiaries’ Audit Committee packs, in order to prepare a summary of key significant issues for further escalations.
- Participate and provide advisory services with respect of any major new international subsidiary integration project.
Framework and Supervisory Responsibilities
- Framework environment includes: Group’s strategic plan, Budgetary/ scorecard targets, Internal Audit Charter/ manual, Directives of the Group Audit & Compliance Committee and GCAE, as well as instructions of the Chief Internal Auditor – International and the Principal Specialist – International Support & Oversight for Global Audit Activity.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct management of the Assistant Audit Manager Support & Oversight for international subsidiaries.
Qualifications
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree preferably in finance, economics, accounting, banking, management or related fields.
- Professional certification or designation such as CIA, CPA, CA, ACCA, CBA or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in banking audit function (covering international & subsidiaries business) out of which 3 years in a managerial role with a major bank.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Arabic speakers are highly desirable.
