Role Summary:
  • To support promoting a strong compliance culture throughout the organization

  • To assist in managing on a pro-active basis the compliance activities with the purpose of identifying and assessing the compliance risks associated with the business activities especially those related to regulatory and statutory requirements,

  • Review all customer documentation to ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Reporting on a regular basis on compliance matters, identified breaches and corrective action taken to Senior Compliance Officer.

  • To ensure complete and proper implementation of regulations and guidelines.

  • If needed, give assistance to the Senior Internal Control Officer and act as the backup on financial crime matters or in case of his absence.

  • If needed, assist Head Office Group Compliance with compliance and data protection activities    

Role Description:
    • Assist the Senior Compliance Officer in ensuring sound compliance policies and practices in order to protect QNB licenses, customer relations and compliance procedures.

    • Ensure Customer Feedback / Complaints are logged and addressed by the Business

    • Conduct risk knowledge

    • Work closely with the Data Privacy Team at Head Office for all GDPR matters        

    • To assist with the Compliance Monitoring and Testing Plan to ensure specific steps within the Plan are completed on schedule

    • Monitor adherence of business and changes to business practices and products to ensure Effective Compliance oversight

    • Perform Horizon Scanning by keeping abreast with regulatory news and changes and updating Senior Compliance managers. Monitor actions taken on Central Banks inspectors’ and Regulatory recommendations to ensure effective implementation and resolution.

    • Provide guidance on Compliance matters to include but not limited to GDPR and Documentation, PSD2, Single Customer view, SMR+CR, Conflicts of interest and MIFID II.

    • Operational and Conduct risk matters (I.e. TCF)

    • Taxation Compliance -FATF/ CRS/ Criminal finance

    • Corporate, Treasury and Financial institutions account relationships (conventional/ Islamic), Participate in conducting scheduled and ad hoc compliance reviews as per the approved annual compliance review plan.

    • Training, assisting and enhancing procedures relating to 1LOD data protection activities

    • Prepare a report for every assignment conducted detailing the review objectives, scope and outcome.   

    • Financial crime/Anti Money Laundering: Act as backup on Financial Crime. Conducting scheduled and ad hoc AML reviews as per the approved Compliance Monitoring and Testing Plan.

    • Ad hoc Group Compliance reporting        

    • Strong awareness of the FCA handbook and ability to deal with regulator queries if required

  • Qualifications:
    • Experience covering GDPR and Documentation, Operational & Risk, Tax Compliance, Corporate Account relationships is sought after.
    • Having exposure to KYC/AML/CFT procedures and excellent knowledge of Customer on-boarding, periodic reviews and transaction monitoring in banking institution or regulatory agency preferably in compliance or internal audit function.

    • Bachelor degree with professional qualifications

    • Professional Compliance qualification (not mandatory)
    • Skilled in Policies and Procedures enhancements will be required
