Role Description

This is primarily a Financial Accounting, Taxation and Regulatory role designed to assist the Head of Finance and Country management by being responsible for all taxation affairs of the UK operations of the Group and also certain legacy entities. All taxes, corporation tax, VAT, withholding and others will fall under this role. They will also be involved in financial, regulatory and MIS reporting of the country and certain legacy entities to HO and to the local regulators. They will also be involved in the analysis of the financial standing of the assigned location banking business.

You will prepare quarterly and annual VAT returns for all VAT registered entities in the UK.

You will be responsible for liaison with external tax advisors and collation of all data for the corporation tax returns of the entities in the UK and also certain legacy entities.

You will keep abreast of all taxation matters that affect the country business and brief senior management and HO on those changes as required.

You will prepare monthly, quarterly, annual MIS, regulatory reports, monthly consolidation and assist in the budget/ forecast process.

You will assist Head of Finance/Chief Representative Officer in developing mechanisms designed to ensure compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations and also international laws and regulations.

You will prepare annual and quarterly financial statements and disclosures for internal stakeholders such as Finance, Compliance, Risk and Audit, as well as preparing financial information for external stakeholders such as auditors, and regulatory bodies etc, including those required for certain legacy entities.

You will evaluate the profit and cost efficiencies in the Branch/Office and develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial information as needed.

You will assist in managing the banking business from a financial perspective to gauge the quality and performance of the bank’s departments.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor/University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, preferably with additional accreditations in Finance.

In addition, he/she will demonstrate extensive experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis, typically gained through experience in the banking industry.

A professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA etc. is preferred
