Job Purpose Summary:
The incumbent will perform the bills for collection related transactions in the most effective and efficient manner resulting in the highest level of customer service quality and ensuring that the related financial and operational risks are mitigated. The incumbent will be responsible for complying with the International Chamber of Commerce Rules and to Group’s policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:
A. Shareholder & Financial:
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Associate, Documentary Collections role.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
B. Customer (Internal & External):
- Provide adequate and efficient transactions in relating to the Bills for Collection services to internal customers and thereby help them serve external customers in a more efficient manner, resulting in increased external customer satisfaction levels.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all the other related departments to achieve the Group’s goals/ objectives.
- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Process and handle inward and outward bills for collection with strict compliance to Group’s policies and procedures and International Chamber of Commerce Rules.
- Perform transactions for bills for collection such as lodgment of bills, amendment, releasing of documents acceptance, shipping guarantee/ delivery orders, returning unpaid bills and settlement within the limit as per credit policy.
- Handle Swifts of transactions relating to bills for collection.
- Prepare periodical reports of bills received, settled, outstanding, dues etc. and send them to the Supervisor Documentary Collections
D. Learning & Knowledge:
- Keep abreast of changes in International Chamber of Commerce/ relevant URC522 rules and local/ international laws and regulations affecting trade finance operations relating to bills for collection.
- Identify areas for professional development of self and act to enhance professional development of self.
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree University Graduate/preferred with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)
