Job Purpose Summary
The primary responsibility of the incumbent will be to support Assistant Vice President International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance for all business activities related to international card and payment products. The objective is to maximize volume and profits by increasing international market share for the bank. Need to maintain and ensure QNB policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements for various countries establishment and support Assistant Vice President International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance to acquire new market wherever the bank have the presence . Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing products aligned with local market business and take it to international market as suitable, while continuously innovating new and enhanced products and features to meet merchants demand. This should be done in a professional and proactive manner, in partnership with stakeholders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions
A. Shareholder & Financial:
- Assist AVP International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance in developing and implementing strategies and plans to achieve pre-agreed volume and revenue/ profit targets for the Retail Cards and Payments Business.
- Strong international payment industry market knowledge
- Strong understanding of the various factors that affects the Bank’s financial & non-financial performance.
- Strong marketing and technical product knowledge
- Understand both Internal and External environmental factors including economic, political, social, competitive and regulatory to be captured in the business planning and operational processes.
- Possess the ability to be sensitive to changing international market conditions and react to market dynamics effectively
- Understanding on POS and Ecommerce base business.
- Observes and promotes cost consciousness and efficiency, and enhance productivity, to minimize costs, avoid wastes, and optimize benefits for the bank
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Assistant Manager, International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance

B. Customer (Internal & External):
- Continuously evaluate international market trends and patterns and ensure that the products and services offered by the business meet/exceed customer needs and expectations
- Ensure that customers across QNB Group benefit from the best available products and features through cross pollination within the Group.
- Actively assist in promoting standardization of products and services where relevant and practical.
- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests
- Liaise with other country representative to give update and support as appropriate from group level.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with local and international departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group’s goals/objectives in addition to assist AVP and Manager International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance
- Provide timely and accurate information to the external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk Functions when required.
- Develop and work with branding and website content related task/department for the products on payment acceptance for the international market
C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Proactively engage with local and international market stakeholders to ensure that global standards and best practices are adhered to, including but not limited to sensitivity analysis models and profitability calculators.
- Assist the superior and work with international businesses to create, modify or re-invent where required to ensure products and services are relevant to market needs and support for licensing from Scheme or local regulatory requirement
D. Learning & Knowledge:
- Possess knowledge of the Cards and Retail Payment business including profits and portfolio in addition to product management fundamentals.
- Engage with various PSPs, Fintech and other country regulatory bodies for the new business establishment and keep the management up to date with the compliance and regulatory requirement
- Understanding of Group products and services available to serve customers and leverage where possible.
- Review performance and provide feedback on an ongoing basis
- Prepare and work with the various countries payment acceptance businesses and work closely with BI team to provide the data reporting to the management
- Promote cross-knowledge and best practices across the group centrally
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor degree University graduate preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank
- Experience in payments industry would be an added advantage
