Job Purpose Summary

The incumbent will be primarily responsible for assisting the AVP-International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance for the development of all international merchant acquiring business with an objective to maximize acquiring volume & profits and meeting the stated targets in compliance with established QNB policies, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible for the sharing and ensuring execution of best practices and standardization of procedures and reporting where local and international regulations permit

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions

A. Shareholder & Financial:

- Assist the AVP-International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance in implementing strategies and plans to achieve pre-agreed volume and revenue/ profit targets for the merchant acquiring business. Monitor merchant transactions/ volume and assist the AVP-International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance, in alignment with local market stakeholders, in ensuring execution appropriate merchant retention strategies to minimize attrition.

- Observes and promotes cost consciousness and efficiency, and enhance productivity, to minimize costs, avoid wastes, and optimize benefits for the bank

- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Senior Associate, International Cards and Retail Payment Acceptance

- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.

- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent

B. Customer (Internal & External):

- Continuously evaluate international market trends and patterns and ensure that the products and services offered by the business meet/exceed customer needs and expectations

- Ensure that customers across QNB Group benefit from the best available products and features through cross pollination within the Group.

- Actively work and assist in promoting standardization of products and services in the international market where relevant and practical.

- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.

- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.

- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.

- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.

- Work with presentation and international business data analysis with BI team and present to the management on regular basis

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

- Proactively engage with local market stakeholders to ensure that they are following global best practices, including but not limited to :

- Logging and tracking merchant requests.

- Collection and Verification of required documentation.

- Ensure quality installations and subsequent maintenance.

- Stock management

- Ensure that local markets follow the prescribed/ existing processes for all merchant related activities including but not limited to POS terminal set-up and activation and also Ecommerce including testing thereof, updating of merchant information on timely basis.

D. Learning & Knowledge:

- Good knowledge of Group products and services available to serve merchants, both for core services and ‘value add’ services.

- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities

- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field

Education and Experience Requirements

- Bachelor degree University graduate preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)

- 2 years of experience required
