Job Summary

Support the Sustainability team (Senior) Managers in delivering specific tasks within the Strategy and Business development department. Responsibility includes supporting activities related to the Sustainability framework, strategy, policy, related framework(s), and agenda. This includes promoting and assisting roll-out and deployment across QNB Group. They are responsible for assisting the ESG (environmental, social and governance) annual public reporting and disclosures, and supporting the team with research. The incumbent will also support priority topics, participate in specific deliverables, and work with internal stakeholders on sustainability related topics across QNB Group. The remit covers Qatar, international branches, representative offices and subsidiaries.

Main Responsibilities

A. Shareholder & Financial:

- Support the annual priority sustainability topics, agenda, and ESG strategic portfolio

- Support the Sustainability team and agenda as part of group wide hub/ centre of excellence with regards to the approach towards enhancing sustainability and external ESG performance for QNB Group

- Assist the development of the annual sustainability related Business Plans, including research and benchmarking

- Control personal impact on the sustainability budget, spend, and vendor relationships

- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Senior Associate, Sustainability.

- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.

- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.

B. Customer (Internal & External):

- Assist the Sustainability team on delivering QNB Group’s agenda and any project related matters.

- Assist as point of contact for sustainability in QNB Group

- Support as coordinator, and quality/ consistency reviewer for ESG related communications, reporting and disclosures to enhance external ESG performance

- Become an ambassador for QNB Group’s Sustainability approach and ESG performance enhancement

- Support relationships with key internal and select external stakeholders (e.g., consultants and service providers)Support the delivery and publication of the group-wide annual ESG report and ensure alignment of other annually published ESG reports from related subsidiaries

- Participate in and support individual projects and specific deliverables

- Build and develop relationships with Head Office divisions, international network and subsidiaries to support the successful delivery of the group-wide sustainability agenda

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

- Support developments relating to the QNB Sustainability policy, related frameworks, and standards (e.g., across dimensions of sustainable finance and sustainable operations) for QNB Group and track alignment across the network

- Participate in process to centrally coordinate, collate, track and analyse qualitative and quantitative sustainability data in line with international reporting standards

- Participate in the development of the material ESG topics for the Bank

- Maintain awareness of and support compliance with ESG-related regulatory requirements and requests across jurisdictions

D. Learning & Knowledge:

- Support QNB Group’s Sustainability approach and ESG performance, including participating in training on ESG related topics

- Support the onboarding of junior team members - Assist the SVP/ VP in identifying any areas for professional development of self

- Conduct and deliver research into industry topics, best-practices, trends and peer bench-marking

- Develop and build high level knowledge of banking processes, regulations, and generally accepted operating practices

- Research and benchmark sustainability initiatives, achievements, techniques/ tools, methodologies, market developments and best-practices

- Complete all mandatory training or seminars provided by the Bank, in order to attain and maintain the required levels of competence

E. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:

- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).

- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.

- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.

- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.

- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.

- Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.

- Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.

F. Other:

- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

- Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.

- Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.

- All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.

Education and Experience Requirements

- Bachelor degree from a Top-tier university degree from leading academic institution with focus on business administration, science, sustainability related studies, or finance

- Qatari graduates with minimum 2 years’ experience

- Awareness, knowledge, and/ or interest in Sustainability topics, trends, practices and principles

- Demonstrated delivery capability and ability to work well in a team through work experience and/ or university assignments and projects

- Proven track record and experience in delivering specific tasks and objectives
