Job Purpose Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for liaising and managing the relationship with the business units and advertising agencies and will act as the focal point of contact. The incumbent will also handle responsibilities relating to Media schedule management (TV, newspaper, magazines, publications, Online advertising and social media.) relating to advertising efforts of the QNB Group.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:
A. Shareholder & Financial:
- Implement the desired budgets to facilitate the delivery and execution of the Group Communications strategy pertaining to Advertising.
- Provide inputs in the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes for the Advertising unit and assist in monitoring their achievement on periodic basis.
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Advertising.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
B. Customer (Internal & External):
- Identify key advertising agencies; establish and maintain relationships with them.
- Develop a strong partnership relationship with international and local newspapers, television stations and other media communications.
- Assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.
C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Implement the departmental policies and procedures, which will set out the principles, methodology and techniques to establish an effective advertising policy.
- Oversee the execution of the advertising strategy.
- Follow up with Coordinator Advertising on any updates on strategic planning and advertising projects made in local and international market. Report critical inputs received to VP Advertising.
- Define advertising, sales promotional and media objectives, work with advertising agencies and internal staff to achieve these objectives on time and within budget.
- Supervise and facilitate the completion of all advertising and promotional materials for assigned product categories by working with in-house staff and outside agencies and vendors.
- Manage the current database of sponsors and advertisers, and developing relationships with new sponsors and advertisers.
- Plan and schedule advertising activity for certain business units. The incumbent is also responsible for pulling together all individual business unit plans to form an overall international advertising strategy.
- Assist in designing and developing the advertising strategy.
- Manage day-to-day issues, including counselling and grievance/disciplinary issues. Recruit new staff as appropriate.
D. Learning & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in outlining direct marketing strategies, managing plan development and implementation, analyzing results and recommending and refining follow-up strategies and plans to improve plan results.
- Extensive knowledge of advertising techniques and how to select and apply the use of them to meet campaign objectives
- Evidence of ability to track and evaluate effectiveness of advertising campaigns
- Exercise high degree of initiative and thinking to perform complex tasks where no procedures or processes are available.
- Maintain an understanding of all pertinent regulations as well as best practices pertaining to the overall operations of the Group.
- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.
- Able to coach less experienced personnel on incumbent’s responsibilities.
E. Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities:
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
- Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
- Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
- Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
- Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.
- Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
F. Other:
- Ensure high standards of data protection and confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
- Maintaining utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators.
- Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position.
- All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree preferably in Advertising related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a major bank of which at least 1 year in a in a similar function.
