Job Purpose Summary:

The incumbent will oversee capital markets & Investment operations; monitor real time trading positions in capital markets, P&L and limits for each portfolio; prepare performance reports and red flags excess limits and notify the appropriate authority.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:

A. Shareholder & Financial:

- Monitor capital markets transaction for compliance with QNB strategy and limits.

- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.

- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Senior Associate, Capital Market and Investment Operations role.

- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.

B. Customer (Internal & External):

- Provide assurance to Management and QCB that capital markets transactions are in accordance with QNB’s Investment Strategy and QCB limits.

- Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with the all other related units to achieve Group’s goals.

- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.

- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.

- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

- Process all the capital market & FI transactions booked in the system

- Ensure all the vostro/nostro accounts of Financial Institutions are updated in the EPH payment system.

- Monitor front office activities, review transactions for proper approval, follow-up on exceptions to limits.

- Notify appropriate authority of any excesses in limits and ensure timely resolution.

- Ensure that all trading balances are matching.

- Support the VP Capital Markets and FI Operations in the preparation of reports for ALCO’s review.

- Check and process all Islamic deals concluded in Head Office Treasury.

D. Learning & Knowledge:

- Possess an understanding of Capital Markets & FI transactions and types for usage, accounting, balance sheet and off-balance sheet treatment, revaluation methods, liquidity and gapping.

- Possess an understanding of back office/ investment systems for static set-up, processing routines, accounting rules, payment instructions, advises and reporting.

- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.

- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree University graduate preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank/ Treasury Settlements/investments control or related field experience.
