Job Purpose Summary:

This section’s primary responsibility is to make sure that all Bonds/Securities/IRS Options, transactions have correctly been entered in the system – verified with Reuter/Email confirmations –The payment instructions are correctly entered as per SSI and Reuter confirmation – and the payment has been made in time – and the inward interbank Vostro payment orders from Vostro banks have been accurately processed from Financial Institutions Vostro accounts. Interest Accruals, amortization of Premium/Discount accurately done. Monitor the transactions from Risk point of view to make sure there are no processing lapses. Supervise the workflow and make sure all transactions done by Front Office have been accurately processed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:

A. Shareholder & Financial:

- 45 Billion QAR Volume of business per annum

- Cover Money settlement of Market; Foreign Exchange Capital Market

- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Vice President Capital Market and Investment Operations

- Assist SVP, Treasury Operations in the annual budgeting and business plan process and the subsequent monitoring thereof.

- Control all financial reporting to other departments for all Treasury Products.

- In addition to supervising Management of huge investment portfolio of the bank. Monitor about QAR120MIO monthly average income on the portfolio. Ensure accurate recording of Derivative products profit and loss account

- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent and delegate authority to the respective staff and monitor exercise of the same.

- Demonstrate clear understanding of the important factors behind the bank's financial & non-financial performance.

B. Customer (Internal and External)

- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.

- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.

- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.

- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.

C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):

- Undertake supervisory review, manage all transaction flows & ensure that dealing room transactions have entered the system in an accurate & timely -manner.

- Ensure Development of a team that understands the process & workflow and can deliver results accurately.

- Ensure all treasury capital market transactions are processed and Authorized

- Ensure all the interbank vostro payment orders are processed and authorized.

- Ensure that all vostro bank accounts have been updated in EPH payment system.

- Supervise Nostro, Vostro & Treasury Customer transfers.

- Supervise Reconciliation routines for deal ticket and associated media.

- Ensure that end day reports are daily produced.

- Maintain a shift schedule to cover the Treasury timings.

- Help in responding/ Solving any customers or other Banks issues promptly and refer any unavoidable delays directly to higher authorities.

- Adhere to Bank policy handling all Capital and FI Transactions.

- Make sure all transactions have been properly approve and booked in the system.

- Custody accounts periodically monitored and compared with the book to ensure Bank’s exposure is in line with bank policy.

- Interest receipt/payments are accurately and professionally monitored and accounting entries being correctly recorded.

- Market Price is timely updated in the system for Fair Value exposure of the bank as per Central Bank Policy

- Excellent knowledge of all Custodian Systems such as Euro-clear; Cedel and others

- Respond to Financial Control queries with regards to variances and P/L and Accruals & Financial Institution queries related to vostro accounts.

- Handle External and Internal Auditors to their satisfaction.

- Physical verification of the deals with Custodian and Bank’s GL.

- Ensure Periodical Reporting to the management and Central Bank as per policy.

- Supervise Staff: Ensure coordination amongst Section staff and coordination with other sections as Section Head

- Support International Branches & subsidiaries

- Continuous Improvement:

- Set examples by leading improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams ensuring successes.

- Identify and encourage people to adopt practices better than the industry standard.

- Continuously encourage and recognise the importance of thinking out-of-the-box within the team.

- Encourage, solicit and reward innovative ideas even in day-to-day issues.

D. Learning & Knowledge:

- Hold meetings with staff and assess their performance and your teams overall performance on a regular basis.

- Take decisive action to ensure speedy resolution of unresolved grievances or conflicts within the team members.

- Identify development opportunities and activities for staff and facilitate/coach them to improve their effectives and prepare them to assume greater responsibilities.

- Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.

- Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.

Education/Experience Requirements:

- Bachelors University graduate preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study), Masters preferred

- At least 12 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank.

- Well developed negotiation skills.

- Ability to work under pressure

- High level of accuracy

- Adequate knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

- Self-motivated.

- Deputize SVP Treasury Operations
