Job Summary
The incumbent will assume prime daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities for financial & regulatory reporting at the local level and consolidation of these reports at the group level. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing detailed analytical review and preparation of local financial & regulatory reporting for The Bank including ad hoc requirements as needed.
Main Responsibilities
A. Shareholder & Financial:
- Ensure timely and accurate disclosure of financial & regulatory reporting including all material matters concerning the Group. In doing so, develop mechanisms designed to ensure compliance with all relevant Qatar Central Bank rules and regulations.
- Create reporting efficiency to enhance productivity, minimise turnaround time, reduce error and add value for the bank.
- Adhere to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), for performance and quality measurement purposes pertaining to regulatory and an hoc reporting to monitor and ensure achievements on a periodic basis.
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Senior Manager Domestic Regulatory Reporting role.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
B. Customer (Internal & External):
- Establish and enhance relationships with regulatory authorities to ensure that all regulatory reporting requirements are complied with.
- Liaise with relevant officials from QCB on matters pertaining to presentation and disclosure of financial statements, emerging financial reporting trends and impacts of proposed accounting standards, etc.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group’s goals & objectives.
- Provide timely, accurate information and reports to the external and internal auditors and the compliance function as required.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial & regulatory reports at the local & group level are completed within the delivery deadline with a high level of accuracy and accompanying analysis of these reports made prior to submission.
- The ability to create ad hoc financial & regulatory reports as required by regulator within specified deadline
- Possess a solid understanding of banking processes, products and transactions flows
- Possess an understanding of core banking systems, data warehouse and their impact on the output and accuracy of regulatory reports Perform data cleansing on a routine basis to ensure financial data is accurate and relevant
- Perform system enhancements on a periodic basis to reduce report turnaround times and eliminate errors
D. Learning & Knowledge:
- Possess a thorough understanding of asset, liability, P/L and off balance sheet accounting and presentation for financial & regulatory reporting
- Possess or acquire knowledge of local regulatory requirements as well as best practices pertaining to regulatory reporting standards.
- Possess knowledge/understanding of various banking systems set up (e.g. core banking, OPICS, BAS) to analyze, create or modify system reports with minimal error
- Help in developing and training local regulatory reporting team in the appropriate skills to ensure an effective and informative regulatory reporting
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor degree University Graduate/preferred with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank/ financial or regulatory reporting
- Knowledge of financial & regulatory reporting methods including a solid understanding of balance sheet, P/L statement and off balance sheet items
