Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for providing various MIS reports on a timely manner to support management for their decision-making processes, coordination of external auditor/regulatory requirements and also to monitor business performance closely and take necessary actions. The incumbent will pprovide and support management with regular reports on progress towards special projects, targets, flagging variations and performing initial checks on reasons for under/over achievement on a case-by-case basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:
A. Shareholder & Financial:
- Perform and support in the preparation of impact assessment as a result of new or changes to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the effect on QNB Group financial position and financial performance
- Support IFRS transition projects in coordination with other cross functional departments
- Support tax compliance projects (example) implementation of VAT
- Support external auditor expectations and other advisory consultants
- Support regulatory reviews and inspections, if any.
- Support the annual or periodical update of bank’s Medium Term Note Programme established in various international jurisdictions.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank.
- Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting timetable for external reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of annual QCB pack for QCB approval of audited financial statements.
- Implements KPI’s and best practices for Assistant Manager, Financial Business Support role.
- Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank. Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
B. Customer (Internal & External):
- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank’s product and seek solution to their requests.
- Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
- Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group’s objectives.
- Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk when required.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Group’s goals/ objectives.
- Liaise with the Group’s IT Department to ensure MIS/ALCO reporting needs of the department are timely resolved/attended to, to the extent these are dependent on required system enhancements.
- Assist in the provision of timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.
- Assist in the provision of timely and value added business support required from GFCD by other departments, branches and subsidiaries etc.
- Assist in the provision of timely reporting to Ministry of Finance and other regulators that may be requested from time to time.
- Support in the preparation of IFRS accounting conclusion memos and take steps to update/amend relevant policy and procedures within the bank’s accounting policies document.
C. Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Support in the development and enhancement of MIS tools and techniques to enable the management/the Board to monitor business performance closely and take timely corrective actions.
- Support in the oversight of financial analysis process and provide business support services to the branches and subsidiaries.
- Oversee the preparation and the timely communication of the quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
- Spearhead the preparation of variance analysis and exception reports for related management reviews, ensure efficient and smooth running of the data consolidation and report distribution processes.
- Ensure the preparation of segmental reports and submit the same to the management on periodic basis.
- Assist and/or participate in projects, as and when required. (example) Financial Due Diligence projects etc.
- Support in the analysis of M&A proposals and assess their impact on the Group’s balance sheet whenever a potential target is identified by Group Strategy or International Banking.
- Identify requirements for updating the MIS and other Risk Management systems and lead on the implementation.
- Review rating agency reports and support in the provision of data to rating agencies and other regulators.
- Support in the analysis of structured repo products and their internal reporting to senior management.
- Support in P&L income and expense analysis and monthly balance sheet proofing exercise.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree University Graduate/preferred with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank.
- Chartered Accountancy, CPA, or ACCA qualified with a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience.
